“Of the millions being spent on bike paths across Sydney, all we are getting is another ‘investigation of cycleway options for the bridge’ and that is to take the next five years, according to the Minister Assisting the Minister for Transport, David Borger.”[1]
“It’s more of the same old Labor, they produce a brochure, and take a photo, but nothing else happens. Nothing is built despite the promises.”
“Like the rest of the community, I’ve decided it’s time to start the change ourselves. I recently established a Victoria Bridge Community Taskforce.”
“It will involve all stakeholders in finding a solution to Victoria Bridge that provides safety for pedestrians and cyclists whilst protecting the heritage value of the bridge.”
We are currently examining the expressions of interest from people interested in being on the Taskforce. The Taskforce membership will be announced in the coming week and the first meeting will be held on 3rd June.[1] Penrith Star, 17 May 2010
