Member for Penrith, Stuart Ayres MP, has today welcomed the opening of the new NSW Trustee & Guardian office in Penrith that will provide will-making, power of attorney and executor services for the people of greater western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

“The new offices are in the heart of Penrith, close to transport and the retail district which will make much faster and easier to access for the local community.” said Stuart Ayres.

“Moving the branch from Blacktown to Penrith means NSW Trustee & Guardian can offer their services to a far greater number of people from a wider area of the greater west including those in the Blue Mountains and Nepean.”

It is important for everyone over the age of 18 in greater western Sydney to make sure they have an up to date will, an enduring power of attorney and enduring guardianship.

According to NSW Trustee & Guardian Penrith acting branch manager Liz Madden, without a will, items of monetary and sentimental value may not be distributed as you may have wanted. It is also important your will is kept up-to-date as your life circumstances change for example, when you get married, purchase a business or property, get divorced, or have children.

“An enduring power of attorney should also go hand-in-hand with a will, as it allows you to appoint an attorney to manage financial and legal affairs such as paying bills and signing documents if you are unable to manage these affairs yourself or lose the capacity to make decisions for yourself,” Ms Madden said.

“Every adult needs to set time aside to get these documents in place, because no one really knows what is around the corner. The good thing is, once you have planned ahead, you can get on with enjoying life, knowing that your assets and finances will be protected in the future.”

Located at 2-6 Station Street, Penrith, the NSW Trustee & Guardian branch is directly opposite Westfield Shopping Centre and Penrith’s transport hub, making it more accessible for a much larger number of people in the greater west.

Additionally people can also visit our head office at the Justice Precinct Offices in Parramatta which is also convenient for public transport.
