Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith congratulates Paul Mukhin on being selected as the YMCA New South Wales Youth Parliament representative for Penrith for 2016.
“Paul has a keen interest in youth representation in society and will be a great representative for Penrith,” said Stuart Ayres.
Paul resides in Glenbrook and is currently part of the Blue Mountains City Youth Council where he is a 2015 – 2016, going onto 2016 – 2017, youth Councillor, and is also a recent member of Youth Action, the peak body for youth in the state.
Paul said I have co-headed the ‘political club’, a club fostering the discussion and debate of a wide range of topics and policies relating to government, of Penrith High School throughout the years of 2014 and early 2015.
“I have a great interest in the values of our natural world and in equal opportunity for all to have their voices heard’ said Paul.
Paul heads into youth parliament with a desire to debate, to learn, to work, and to make lifelong friends.
“It has been my pleasure to nominate Paul for this rewarding program.” added Stuart Ayres.
The YMCA NSW Youth Parliament is a program that offers young people aged 15-18 a way to put across their ideas about issues that concern them. It is a program where the opinions and concerns of young people in NSW are heard by those who have the power to make laws.
Young people can be nominated for Youth Parliament by Members of the NSW Parliament or apply directly to take part in the program.
