Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith joined members of the Penrith Valley RSL Day Club and the Penrith Senior Citizens to announce that applications are now open for the Penrith 2018 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.

Stuart Ayres said the awards are a wonderful way to showcase the talents and contributions of seniors living in Penrith as part of the special 60th Anniversary celebrations of the popular NSW Seniors Festival.

“Penrith seniors make a real difference to local families, recreational groups, businesses and organisations, and we want to celebrate them,” Stuart Ayres said.

“I am sure everyone in Penrith knows an older person who deserves to be recognised, so I encourage you to nominate them and show them how much they are appreciated for all they do.”

Minister for Ageing, Tanya Davies urged all members of the public to take this opportunity to celebrate the older people in their lives.

“Seniors have a wealth of knowledge and experience to offer, and they continue to make significant contributions to communities across NSW,” Mrs Davies said.

“The NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards are a special way in which every community can thank local seniors for their hard work, skills and generosity.”

Nominations for the 2018 Penrith NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards are open from Friday 9 February to Friday 23 March 2018. Click here for the nomination form.
