Community Building Partnerships

The Building Community Partnerships Program, gives funding to local not for profit groups who are in need of infrastructure. Each application is evaluated by the local Member for Parliament on its contribution to community life, as well as by government experts who look at its economic benefits.

I was given the opportunity to work with local community groups and deliver $500,000 worth of funding this year. I took a very hands-on approach to each application, visiting their facilities and seeing their work first-hand.

It’s a privilege to have been able to approve some of that money for this work with our community’s most disadvantaged.

One of the great things about this program is that it enables the local member of Parliament to engage directly with applicants.

I spoke to representatives from each group, I met with the volunteers who are giving so much to all of us through their dedication, and I have seen the need in the community for each applicant’s work. It was a fantastic
experience – it was making community personal.

Below is the full list of applicants for whom I was able to secure funding.
