Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith today joined Ellen Smallacombe and Julian Huxley to announce $5,000 in NSW Government funding for Penrith Rugby Club as part of the Local Sport Grant Program.

Funding has been provided to purchase training equipment for the Penrith Rugby Club representative teams.

“The main aim of this program is to increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in sport and active recreation in NSW,” Stuart Ayres said.

“Sport is a huge part of our way of life and the NSW Government recognises how important it is to our communities, for both social and health reasons.

Mr Huxley said “The kids that play football at this club are given every opportunity to showcase their skill and take the next step towards playing professional football.”

“We welcome this grant which will be used to upgrade our current equipment that is well past its use by date” said Ms Smallacombe.

“The NSW Government is committed to delivering the best infrastructure to the people of NSW and I look forward to seeing the benefits of this upgrade for the community,” Stuart Ayres added
