Nsw Government Assists Local Sporting Organisations with Funding Grants

NSW GOVERNMENT ASSISTS LOCAL SPORTING ORGANISATIONS WITH FUNDING GRANTS

Member for Penrith, Stuart Ayres welcomed the announcement by Minister Graham Annesley, Minister for Sport and Recreation of the successful application of two local sporting organisations as part of the NSW Government’s Participation and Facility Grant Program.

\”I am pleased to announce that the Penrith Women’s Health Centre has received a grant of $9550 and Panthers On the Prowl Community Development Foundation $10000.\” Mr Ayres said.

\”These grants provide funding for local initiatives to encourage people to be active on a more regular basis and promote good health and wellbeing \”Mr Ayres said.

Across NSW a total of 145 sporting grant recipients have been announced including not for profit sports clubs and local councils, totalling $1.7 million as part of the NSW Government’s Participation and Facility Grant Program.

\”The NSW Government is committed to investing in the long term health and wellbeing across the community\” Mr Ayres said.

Applications are invited for the next round of Participation and Facilities Program grants which are now open and close 26 February 2013.
