Penrith Electric Model Aero Club receives support under Community Building Partnership Grant

The Penrith Electric Model Aero Club will benefit from $8,000 in funding toward a new barbeque and picnic shelter after lodging a successful grant under the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership’s Program, Member for Penrith Stuart Ayres announced today.
\”The Penrith Electric Model Aero Club is a unique and often forgotten club when it comes to support from sporting and recreational grants.\” Mr Ayres said.
\”While their membership base may be smaller than other clubs in our region, the level of involvement and engagement with every member is all the more stronger.
\”Our area is unique among the Sydney basin because we have the wide open recreational spaces to provide for activities such as electric model aeroplanes and it is pleasing to be able to have funding directed toward building on that asset.
\”The funding for a new picnic setting will help flyers capitalise on the natural advantages of being located in our region – it will further enhance their enjoyment they receive from being located between the Nepean River and the beginning of the lower mountains.
Penrith Electric Model Aero Club Secretary Mark Fenlon welcomed the announcement.
\”This is good news for our club members. It will provide much needed protection from the elements for both club members and members of the public who visit our field.\” Mr Fenlon said.
