Penrith Seniors Recognised with Local Achievement Awards

Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith today congratulated the recipients of the Penrith 2020 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards.

The recipients attended a presentation today in conjunction with the Penrith CBD Corporation at Bethany on High Café.

“The NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards give our local communities an opportunity to say thank you to seniors for the positive contributions they make on a daily basis,” said Stuart Ayres.

“I offer my congratulations to Rachel, Tom, Alan and the Emu Plains Lions Club on receiving this award and say thank you to all of the seniors for the invaluable service they provide across our community,” Stuart Ayres said.

Individual recipients include:

  • Mrs Rachel Wong – dedication and commitment to the community through service to Nepean District Historical Society, Nepean Archaeology Group, Zonta Club of Nepean Valley, Friends of the Penrith Regional Gallery and the Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountains,
  • Mr Tom Bell – service to the Penrith Community including supporting local charity groups and sporting groups,
  • Mr Alan Bideleux- service to the Penrith community through the Cambridge Park Lions Club and in particular their fundraising efforts to support drought stricken families in Trangie and Dubbo.

Emu Plains Lions Club have also been recognised with an award in the organisation category for service to the Penrith Community. 

The NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards are a way the NSW Government is recognising seniors during the 2020 NSW Seniors Festival.

NSW Seniors Festival is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere and was established by the NSW Government to support seniors to participate in the community and connect with others.
