Minister for Emergency Services Troy Grant and Member for Penrith Stuart Ayres have announced a $10,000 grant for new equipment for the Penrith SES Unit.

“The Unit has about 90 volunteers who can be called on to respond to emergencies across the Penrith electorate any time of the day,” Mr Ayres said.

“The men and women in orange provide an invaluable service to the local community, often under the most challenging of circumstances.

“In fact, the Penrith Unit has responded to about 400 requests for help so far this financial year,” Mr Ayres said.

This funding announcement was made during an inspection of the Penrith Unit’s base.

“I am incredibly proud of our local SES volunteers and the work they do, so it’s pleasing to be able to support them with this funding,” Mr Grant said.

Mr Grant and Mr Ayres both commended the commitment of Penrith SES volunteers and their willingness to give up their time to serve their community.
